Description

Taken from the Bangor City Hall on the corner of Hammond and Columbia Streets circa 1900. Bangor City Hall was more formerly known as the Samuel F. Hersey Memorial Building. The most prominent church shown is the First Congregational Church -- located on the site that would become All Soul's Congregational Church following the Great Fire in Bangor in April 1911.

Bottom right hand corner shows the Bangor Public Library at 11 State Street. This is the current and longtime home of Bangor Savings Bank on State Street.

Also visible are Marston's Photograph Rooms on State Street and Crossman's New Photograph Rooms behind State Street.
