Charles Augustin Flanagan. Private First Class, Company I, 334th U.S. Infantry. 84th Division, 9th Army.
10 May 1923 - 25 November 1944.
Following life-long Bangor residence, graduation from Bangor High School, 1941, and two years engineering study at the University of Maine, he enlisted June 1943, and trained for war at Camp Clairborne, Louisiana. His home recreation was carpentry. He was killed in action in Germany and posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
