In World War I with 103rd Infantry, 26th Division, in Aisne-Marne, St Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, and Champagne-Marne engagements. Cited by General Pershing 23 July 1918. In World War II his civil occupation of iron worker became his naval occupation. Died at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, of illness following injury on duty in England.
