On his thirty-first bombing mission from Italy, as radio gunner of a B-24, he fell in action at Tapoloza, near Lake Balaton, Hungary. Enlisted 1 January 1943. Trained at nine airfields. Graduated, Bangor High, 1937. Engaged in many sports. Employed in aircraft construction. Air Medal with two oak-leaf clusters. Purple Heart.
