Description
The body of Clarence Lee Shaffer, shot dead on Central Street, Bangor, October 12, 1937. A member of the infamous Brady Gang who came to Maine to escape the authorities in Indiana. They attempted to purchase guns and ammunition, including a "Tommy Gun" at Dakin's Sporting Goods. They were ambushed by the Bangor Police, Maine State Police, Indiana State Police, and FBI agents.
