The corner of Main Street and Cedar Street, Bangor Maine, 1926. Shown are the Davenport Park, home of the U.S.S. Maine Battleship Monument, the advertising sign for the Bangor Motor Company at 225 Main Street, (rising behind the trees) St. Mary's Church at 38 Cedar Street, and Fifield & Co., a druggist, located at 263 Main Street (see also: https://digicom.bpl.lib.me.us/spc_bangor_images/50/). Fifield & Co. is the current home of the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter.
This photograph is part of a donation given to the library by the Bangor Hydro Electric Company. The back of the photograph says 1926. We opt to trust this date as being accurate.
