    Circa Date

    1899-1910

    Description

Lower Hammond Street, Bangor, Maine. Estimated between 1890-1901. The 1899 Bangor city directory lists the business of Adolf Pfaff, E.G. Baker, Chapman's Clothing Company, and D.C. Gould at these locations. (All visible with a magnifier). The 1903 city directory indicates that Daniel C. Gould died August 12, 1901. Reasoned that photograph not after 1901 given Mr. Gould's death date -- or at mininimal, only a few years beyond 1901.

Adolf Pfaff was a watchmaker and jeweler at 25 Hammond Street. Ernest G. Baker sold insurance at 23 Hammond Street. Chapman's Clothing Company was located at 17 Hammond Street. D.C. Gould manufactured harnesses and sold blankets, robes, trunks, bags, and more at 18 Hammond Street. Clock shows about 3:45 in the afternoon.
