Description

The Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) building at the corner of Hammond and Court Streets circa 1900 (according to back of photo).

This building was designed by Wilfred E. Mansur and built in 1891. The main building was 75 feet by 90 feet and occupied three floors. A connected rear gymnasium was 40 feet by 69 feet and 38 feet tall. At the corner of Hammond and Court Streets was placed a tower that was the tallest point in the building.
