    Photo date is an estimate. Shows the convergence of Main, Hammond, and Central Street. The Wheelwright and Clark Block, the current location of Mexicali Blues in downtown Bangor's West Market Square, was built about 1859-1860. The Smith Block, containing City Drug Store and Dirigo Rural, built about 1835 is in the center of the photograph.

    Businesses include: E.P. Baldwin at 55 West Market Square, a leather shop.

    James A. Robinson, a clerk, and Second National Bank in the Wheelwright and Clark building.

    Norumbega Hall can be seen on Central Street (the "shorter" building in the center).
