Forrest D. Parker has the distinction of being the sparkplug to start the Rotary Club of Bangor into being. As the guest of Robert W. Pope, then Augusta manager for Swift & Co., Forrest, Feb. 2, 1917, attended a meeting of the Augusta Club, which was chartered in November, 1916. He was so much impressed that the thought naturally came "Why not a Rotary Club for Bangor?"
