Lauren L. CoWallis. Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Forces. 558th Bombardment Squadron, 38th Bombardment Group, 9th Air Force.
1 September 1921 - 6 December 1944.
Air Medal with four clusters. Purple Heart. After serving from July 1942 Bombardier CoWallis was killed in action over Duren, Prussia. Previous to joining 9th Air Force he was aerial gunnery instructor with 8th Air Force in Africa. Bangor resident fifteen years. Milo High School 1939. Salesman and sheet-metal worker.
