Renfrew A. Yerxa. 2nd Lieutenant, U.S. Army Infantry - 3rd Infantry Division.
18 June 1921 - 4 November 1944.
Zest for life characterized him. He met death as he led his platoon in attack in Southern France; an enemy sniper shot him. He fought previously in Italy. Bangor High School, 1938. He was both a playwright and actor. Before entering the Army he was a shipfitter at Portland.
