Graduated, University of Maine, 1942, BA in business administration, and entered the Marine Corps. Trained at Quantico, Virginia. Commissioned, 1942. Fought at Bougainville, Solomon Islands. Fell in action at Guam, Marianas Islands. Mathematics honors at John Bapst High School. Graduated, 1938. At college was a varsity baseball player. Purple Heart.
