Expert swimmer and tennis player. Reading, Massachusetts, High School, 1937. Westminster School, Simsbury, Connecticut, 1939. Entered Columbia University and enlisted, 1939. Advanced air training, Dow Field, Bangor, 1941 - 1942. Killed in action piloting his B-17 Flying Fortress over Hamburg, Germany. His son, Peter Anthony, is a native of Bangor. Purple Heart.
