Description

Charles Bridges was from Castine, aged 23 when mustered in as corporal in Company B, 2nd Maine Infantry on May 28, 1861, promoted to sergeant on September 6, 1861. Promoted First Sergeant July 1, 1862, Resigned February 25 1863 to accept commission as a 1st Lieutenant and Regimental Quartermaster in the 80th U.S. Colored Infantry. Promoted Captain, Quartermaster, February 10, 1865. and mustered out August 4, 1865.
