Merle Lawrence Condon. Corporal, U.S. Army Infantry. 446th Replacement Company, 5th Replacement Battalion.

20 June 1909 - 26 September 1944.

In August 1942 re-entered the Army for the war, having earlier served six years at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Trained at Camp Pickett, Virginia. Went to England, December 1943. Fought in the campaigns of Normandy and Northern France. Died from accidental discharge of a firearm by a French civilian. Presidential Accolade.
