25 February 1890 - 4 December 1944.
As a youth served three years in the Navy. Returned to the sea 28 October 1944 as chief cook aboard S.S. Peter V. Daniels. Died of illness. Buried at St. James Military Cemetery, Morlaix, Finistere, France. Graduated U.S. Naval Cooks School, Newport, R.I. In civil life chef at various Bangor institutions.
