Description
Cyrus Roberts, age 35 from Searsmont was mustered in to the 4th Maine Infantry June 15, 1861. In 1862 he is listed as being sick at Newark, New Jersey. This photograph was taken in Newark, NJ, and shows Roberts in the uniform of the Veteran Volunteers. The specific unit is not known, but he is not listed with the Maine Veteran Volunteers. In the final report for the 4th Maine he is listed as "dropped".
