Description

A view of the Brewer entrance to the covered Old Toll Bridge. Supported on pylons, the bridge allowed easy access across the Penobscot between Bangor and Brewer. This photograph also shows a view of the wharves on both sides of the river, with vessels ranging from small sailboats to the small steamship on the lower right to the larger vessel equipped with a covered side propeller across the river on the left.
