Ralph Louis Clapp. Seaman Cook Second Class, U.S. Navy - U.S.S. LST 912.

12 May 1924 - 8 January 1945.

Killed at his post while defending his ship from enemy attack. Buried at sea. A native of Bangor. Following graduation from John Bapst High School, 1941, he went into the newspaper business. Served in the Navy two and a half years, including a year at sea in the Pacific area.
