Charles Edward Small. Private First Class, U.S. Army Infantry. 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division.

31 December 1921 - 29 May 1944.

With the Thunderbird Division he fought in Tunisia, Sicily, through the Apennines, and at Anzio, dying of accident at Nettuno, near Anzio, as the engagement ended. Entered service, February 1943. Trained at Fort McLellan, Alabama. Landed in Africa, 6 June 1943. For three years a student at Bangor High School.
