Description

Aubrey Francis Withee. Ordinary Seaman, Merchant Marine. Wiper, S.S. Pan Massachusetts. 16 February 1908 - 19 February 1942.

He was lost when the S.S. Pan Massachusetts was torpedoed 20 miles off Cape Canaveral, Florida 28. 27 N x 80.08 W by U-128 (Heyse). Carrying gasoline and oil the ship burned and sank. He joined the Merchant Marine as a Messman in 1940. Atlantic War Zone Bar, Mariners Medal, Presidential Testimonial Letter.
